The Holy Shit series reflects on the observations of BECKERHARRISON during the typically strangely aggressive Easter celebrations in Jerusalem. The art humorously depicts the sense of looming danger that is present everywhere, the single-minded obstinacy of pilgrims and priests to fulfil their journey’s spiritual ambitions at the expense of their civility, the constant threat of disruption or attack by any number of disgruntled factions and the draconian efforts of the security forces to maintain stability. Holy Shit irreverently questions the existence of an absolutely powerful, universal deity, a concept common to the major world religions. Holy Shit was exhibited at the Galerie Hiltawski in Berlin.
